These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern all consultations, treatments, procedures, and services provided by DermaCutis ("the Clinic", "we", "us", "our") to patients and clients ("you", "the patient"). By booking an appointment, attending a consultation, or receiving treatment at the Clinic, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before booking.
1. About Our Services
DermaCutis provides private medical and cosmetic dermatology consultations, treatments, and procedures to adults 18 and over. All treatment is provided at the clinical discretion of the treating clinician, based on a full assessment of your medical history and presenting condition. We reserve the right to decline, defer, or modify any treatment where it is not considered clinically appropriate or safe.
2. Consultations, Follow-Up Appointments, and Investigations
2.1 A single consultation may not be sufficient to diagnose, treat, or resolve your condition. Many dermatological conditions require an ongoing course of care.
2.2 Where clinically indicated, your clinician may recommend one or more follow-up appointments to review your progress, response to treatment, or condition. These are separately chargeable appointments unless otherwise stated at the time of booking.
2.3 Some conditions require further investigations to reach or confirm a diagnosis, or to safely monitor treatment. This may include, but is not limited to:
- Blood tests
- Skin biopsies
- Swabs / skin scrapings / nail clippings
2.4 Where such investigations are recommended, they are carried out at an additional charge, which will be explained to you before the test or procedure is performed. This may include the clinician's time, sample collection, laboratory/histology processing fees, and a follow-up appointment to discuss results.
2.5 You are under no obligation to proceed with any recommended follow-up appointment, blood test, or biopsy, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy of a diagnosis or the safety of ongoing treatment without them, and we will advise you accordingly.
3. Prescriptions
3.1 DermaCutis operates as a private clinic only. We are not able to issue NHS prescriptions under any circumstances.
3.2 All prescriptions issued by our clinicians are private prescriptions. Where you choose to have a prescription dispensed through us, you will be charged the cost price of the medication or item prescribed, in addition to any applicable consultation or dispensing fee.
3.3 You are free to take a private prescription to a pharmacy of your choice to be dispensed, subject to that pharmacy's own charges and availability.
3.4 We cannot transfer or convert a private prescription into an NHS prescription, and we cannot advise on NHS prescription entitlement or costs.
4. Continuation of Medication
4.1 We will not continue, renew, or repeat a prescription for most medications without an appropriate follow-up appointment. On some occasions we may be able to issue a repeat prescription, however there is a £25 repeat prescription charge.
4.2 Certain medications require specific monitoring tests (for example, blood tests to check organ function, drug levels, or other safety parameters) before a prescription can be safely continued. These tests are dependent on the individual drug prescribed and will be advised by your clinician.
4.3 If you do not attend the required follow-up appointment or complete the relevant monitoring tests, we will not continue your medication, in the interests of your safety. This may result in a gap or discontinuation of your treatment, and we accept no liability for any consequences arising from a patient's failure to attend required reviews or monitoring.
5. Appointment Cancellations and No-Shows (Consultations)
5.1 We require a minimum of 24 hours' notice to cancel or rearrange a standard consultation appointment.
5.2 If you cancel, rearrange, or fail to attend ("no-show") a consultation appointment with less than 24 hours' notice, an administration charge of £50 will be applied.
5.3 This charge reflects the clinical time reserved for your appointment and the administrative cost of managing late cancellations. Payment of this charge may be required before a further appointment is booked.
6. Procedure Cancellations and No-Shows
6.1 Procedures require a longer period of preparation, including clinician time, room booking, and, where applicable, ordering of consumables or products specific to your treatment.
6.2 We require a minimum of 48 hours' notice to cancel or rearrange a booked procedure.
6.3 If you cancel, rearrange, or fail to attend a procedure appointment with less than 48 hours' notice, 50% of the procedure fee will be charged to cover the costs and losses incurred by the Clinic.
6.4 Where a deposit has been taken for a procedure, this charge will be deducted from that deposit; any shortfall will be invoiced separately, and any credit balance is not refundable but may be applied to a rebooked appointment.
7. Payment Terms and Pricing
7.1 Full payment for consultations, procedures, investigations, and medications is due at the time of appointment unless otherwise agreed in writing with the Clinic.
7.2 Prices for consultations, treatments, procedures, tests, and prescriptions are available on request and may be subject to change. You will be informed of the relevant cost before proceeding with any chargeable service.
7.3 Cancellation and administration charges outlined in Sections 5 and 6 are payable in addition to, and independently of, any other fees owed to the Clinic.
7.4 Prices shown on our website are provided as a guide and are updated regularly, but they may occasionally differ from the price quoted or charged at the time of your appointment. This can happen due to factors such as pricing reviews, individual treatment planning, product or supplier cost changes, or website update delays. Where a discrepancy exists, the price confirmed to you directly by the Clinic at the time of booking or during your consultation will apply, and we will always inform you of the final cost before you agree to proceed with any chargeable service.
7.5 Please note, we do not currently accept any insurance, this is a self-pay only service; full payment will be expected for any consultation, procedure or investigation.
8. Acceptable Behaviour
8.1 We are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and professional environment for all patients and staff. We expect all patients, and anyone accompanying them, to treat our clinicians and staff with courtesy and respect at all times.
8.2 We operate a zero-tolerance approach to any form of abusive, aggressive, threatening, discriminatory, or violent behaviour towards our staff, other patients, or on our premises, whether in person, by telephone, in writing, or via email or social media.
8.3 We reserve the right to end a consultation or appointment immediately, refuse further treatment, and/or remove a patient from our practice list if their behaviour is deemed unacceptable, without refund of any fees already paid for services provided or reserved.
8.4 Attendance at appointments while under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs, where this compromises your ability to give informed consent or poses a safety risk, may result in the appointment being declined or terminated, and standard cancellation charges may apply.
8.5 Any incidents of unacceptable behaviour may be recorded in your patient record and, where necessary, reported to the relevant authorities.
9. Consent, Medical Records, and Confidentiality
9.1 You will be asked to provide informed consent before any examination, treatment, procedure, or investigation. You are entitled to ask questions and receive clear information about risks, benefits, and alternatives before consenting.
9.2 Accurate and honest disclosure of your medical history is essential to your safety. The Clinic cannot be held responsible for outcomes arising from incomplete or inaccurate information provided by the patient.
9.3 Your medical records are kept securely and confidentially in accordance with UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) and relevant professional guidance. Details of how we handle your personal data are set out in our separate Privacy Policy.
10. Clinical Governance and Regulation

10.2 If you have any concerns about the standard of care you have received, please refer to our Complaints Procedure.
11. Complaints
11.1 We take all feedback and complaints seriously. If you are unhappy with any aspect of your care, please raise this with the Clinic in the first instance, in writing or by contacting Dr Sophie Gaikwad (complaints@dermacutis.co.uk). This must be done within 12 months of the date giving rise to the complaint to ensure the complaint can be investigated adequately.
11.2 We aim to acknowledge complaints within 7 working days and to provide a full response within 25 days.
11.3 If you remain dissatisfied following our internal complaints process, you may be entitled to escalate your complaint to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman, Millbank Tower, London, SW1P 4QP. Tel: 0345 0154033. www.ombusman.org.uk
12. Limitation of Liability
12.1 While every care is taken in providing treatment, medicine and cosmetic procedures carry inherent risks which will be explained to you as part of the consent process. We do not guarantee specific outcomes or results from any treatment or procedure.
12.2 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
13. Intellectual Property and Trade Marks
13.1 "DermaCutis" and the DermaCutis logo are trade marks of the Clinic. No licence is granted to use these marks, and they may not be used, copied, or reproduced without our prior written consent.
