Dermatology Care in Sheffield - Dermacutis

DermaCutis was founded by Dr Sophie Gaikwad, Consultant Dermatologist.

Dr Sophie Gaikwad is a highly skilled consultant dermatologist based in Sheffield, specialising in a wide range of skin problems, including eczema, skin cancer, psoriasis, acne, hair disorders, pigmentation problems, and benign skin lesions. Her extensive experience and dedication to patient care make her a trusted expert in the field.

Dr Gaikwad graduated with honours and a distinction from the University of Sheffield. She further advanced her medical qualifications by obtaining MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians, London, followed by a specialty certificate in dermatology. Dr Gaikwad is on the GMC specialist register for Dermatology.

Dr Gaikwad has held consultant positions at several teaching hospitals in South Yorkshire, including as patch testing lead and a special interest in patch testing.

Additionally, she received cosmetic training on the prestigious Harley Street, London, and is proficient in cosmetic injectables. She has also undertaken the British Cosmetic Dermatology Group  'injectables in aesthetic medicine' course at level 7.

 Her skills also include cryotherapy, surgical removal of skin lesions, and intralesional steroid injections for conditions such as alopecia areata and hypertrophic/ keloid scars.

Dr Gaikwad is an active member of several professional organisations, including the British Association of Dermatologists, the British Cosmetic Dermatology Group, the British Society for Cutaneous Allergy, the European Society of Contact Dermatitis, the Aesthetic Complications Expert World Group, and the British Medical Laser Association.
